Door Prize Contest Details

  1. There are 15 Door Prizes!!  Yes, you should read that again … there are 15 Door Prizes!!

  2. All ticket holders to the CFUW Orillia Homes for Scholarships Tour ordered by Thursday May 29, 2025 at Noon are eligible for the draw.  

  3. Odds of winning are based on the number of tickets ordered by Thursday May 29, 2025 at Noon.

  4. The winning tickets will be drawn on the afternoon of Thursday May 29, 2025 in the following manner:

    • Based on the number of tickets ordered by Thursday May 29, 2025 at Noon, that number will be entered into a computer random number generator.  The random number generator will be set to choose 18 random numbers.  (See #9 regarding why 18 numbers will be drawn for 15 prizes). The online random number generator software we will be using is called Calculator Soup (great name!).
    • Tour tickets will be numbered in the order in which they were received by our ticket management system. Each of the randomly generated numbers will be matched against the number that was assigned to the tour ticket when ordered. The person whose name is listed with the matching number will be the winner. 

    • Door prizes will be awarded in ascending order of value.  In other words, the first number randomly generated will be awarded the prize with the lowest stated value and the last number randomly generated will be awarded the prize with the highest stated value.   

    • Calculator Soup’s random number generator does not display its results in any particular order so your chances of winning a higher or lower value door prize are not dependent on when you order a ticket.

  5. Winners will be announced at the Homes for Scholarships Tour, June 1, 2025.  Look for your name on the Door Prize Winner sign at the check-in table at each home.  You do not need to be in attendance to win.  

  6. Winners will be contacted on June 2, 2025, via an email to advise that they have won.  Each winner will have until June 12, 2025 to reply to that email to confirm acceptance of their prize.

  7. Each winner will be responsible for picking up their prize from CFUW Orillia before June 23, 2025.  

  8. If a winner is unable to pickup their prize from CFUW Orillia in the stated time frame they may choose to give their prize to another individual.   A winner may also choose to donate their prize back to CFUW Orillia.

  9. Of the 18 randomly generated numbers, we will hold the last 3 for use in case any one of the original 15 winners does not claim their prize in the time frame stated.
  10. We will be publishing the list of all winners.
  11. We are fortunate to have many generous supporters of our event and are happy to award the prizes as stated in these rules.  So, no – there is no lawyer involved, and no legalese.  Just simple rules to make this fun and fair!
