Memorabilia and More...
What to expect
It has been fifty years since CFUW Orillia held its first Homes Tour to raise money for scholarships! To celebrate, peek back into the 50’s and 60’s with a visit to this mesmerizing collection of mid-century memorabilia.
Meticulously organized by the owner, the double-car garage is filled with beautifully maintained, and/or restored items. The jukeboxes will bring back memories for some as will many other items. Autographs from celebrities such as Davy Jones from the Monkees, Elizabeth Taylor, Burton Cummings and the real Peggy Sue and Donna, their names immortalized by Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens, grace the walls.
The owner started collecting records in his teens and began seriously collecting other items in the 80’s. He now has “only” around 3000 records, having sold many from his previous collection.
Vintage signs, an authentic soda fountain and diner booth from the era, mid century furniture and accessories are just a few more of the numerous items on display.
Be sure not to miss this fascinating collection that everyone, no matter their age, will enjoy. Take a trip back in time and be ready to hear some very interesting stories.
Antique, Vintage, and Classic cars will also be on display, including a rare Tudhope car.
Accessibility: One level- no stairs
Parking: Parking available on the street.
Enter your name to win a ride in the Tudhope car. The ride will be scheduled at a mutually convenient date for the owner and the winner. All proceeds from the event will provide scholarships to young women from the Orillia area pursuing post-secondary education.
Since 1974, $441,975 in scholarships have been awarded to 776 young women.
