Timeless Cottage
What to expect
Designed for gathering, built for memories.
This charming six-bedroom cottage (five of which are on the tour) is a central gathering place for the owner’s family. Enter through the lobby and take in the expansive view of Lake Simcoe from the large picture windows. Look up and admire the header beams, installed to make the kitchen, dining room and living room open plan, and to ensure you can see the lake from anywhere in this space.
In the kitchen, the giant island takes pride of place, and the homey feeling is enhanced by the brick backsplash which was added by the owner.
In the living room, a sliding glass panelled door to the upper deck ensures that the view is unobstructed. Some windows have been replaced on this floor, and plantation shutters were also installed by the owner. Three spacious bedrooms and a three-piece bathroom are accessed by a long hallway. One of the bedrooms has impressive cupboards, designed and built at the owner’s son’s place of work.
The new stairway of engineered hardwood leads down to the lower level, where you’ll find a delightful family room with built-ins, usually occupied by the kids. Another two spacious bedrooms, one with bunk beds and two queens maximize availability for guests. The other bedroom has a walkout to the garden. There’s also a three-piece bathroom with a shower.
Exit by the side door which provides a choice – left to the delightful garden or right up the stairs to the exit. The three-level garden has stairs to each level, mature plantings and of course, those amazing views!
Exit to the left of the house.
Accessibility: Stairs down to the lower level to exit, 11 stairs with no railing up from the garden to exit.
Parking: Please park on the opposite side of the road.
